Trade School Scholarship

Applications due no later than June 30, 2024

Tulare County Foundation for Ag Education and Youth is a voluntary non-profit organization. We are a diversified board of individuals who united for the purpose to economically support the youth of Tulare County who are involved in agriculture and trade-related programs, while promoting education in both industries. Our $1,000 trade scholarship is awarded to persons age 16 or older who are pursuing qualified education in an eligible skilled trade program.

Eligibility

  • This scholarship must be awarded to an applicant who resides in Tulare County.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in trade program classes at an eligible institution.
  • Applicant must be majoring in a relevant trade program, which includes but is not limited to the following fields:
    • Agriculture Irrigation
    • Automotive Technology
    • Construction
    • Drafting Technology
    • Electrician Training
    • Environmental Control Technology / HVAC
    • Industrial Automation
    • Industrial Maintenance Technology
    • Mechanized Agriculture
    • Welding Technology
  • Not all applicants will receive an award.
  • The offer of a scholarship is valid only during the academic period for which the offer is made.
  • Applicant must show their identification to the representative of the Foundation in order to receive their scholarship.
  • You will receive a letter if you have been selected to receive a scholarship with instructions on procedures to follow.
  • Your scholarship funding will be released in two equal payments:
    • The first half of the award will be delivered to you upon receipt of your proof of enrollment and classes scheduled.
    • The second half of the award will be delivered to you upon receiving a copy of your grades, proving successful completion of the academic year.

“Sow the Seeds” Scholarship

Ag Mechanics Project

“Sow the Seed” Scholarship will be awarded based on eligibility as outlined in the criteria below, as well as the quality of the application. The Foundation will assist with the funds for an FFA Chapter member for a student that is beginning an ag mechanic project.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student must be a Tulare County FFA Chapter Member.
  • Completion of typed scholarship application including a recommendation letter by a FFA Advisor.
  • Ag Mechanic Project Must be the student’s First Time designing an ag mechanic project.
  • High School Students are eligible to apply, as a first-year project.
  • The student may not be designing another ag mechanic project.
  • The Foundation will provide a list of eligible costs and list of partner suppliers

Ineligible:

  • If a student receives the “Sow the Seed” Scholarship the student will NOT be eligible to receive the Foundation Grant and the Foundation will not be able to purchase the ag mechanics for the student at the fair the same year of receiving the scholarship.

“Sow the Seeds” Scholarship

Small Livestock

“Sow the Seed” Scholarship will be awarded based on eligibility as outlined in the criteria below, as well as the quality of the application. The Foundation will assist with the funds for an FFA Chapter member up to $1,500 for a student that is beginning a small livestock animal project.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student must be a Tulare County FFA Chapter Member.
  • Completion of typed scholarship application including a recommendation letter
    by an FFA Advisor.
  • Small Livestock Project Must be the student’s First Time Showing a Livestock Animal.
  • The student may not be showing another livestock project
  • The Foundation will provide a list of eligible costs and list of partner suppliers

Ineligible:

  • If a student receives the “Sow the Seed” Scholarship the student will NOT be eligible to receive the Foundation Grant and the Foundation will not be able to purchase the livestock animal for the student at the fair the same year of receiving the scholarship.
